Black Queens coach Kim Lars Björkegren expects his full squad to be available for Wednesday’s training before Ghana’s Olympic qualifier against Mauritius.
Most players arrived in Mauritius on Tuesday, joining those who got there the day before. The technical team held a light session to help players recover from their travels.
“Great to catch up with all of the girls again after the WAFCON. Now it’s time for the Olympic qualification,” Björkegren said after training.
The Swedish coach said the rest of the players were expected to arrive in time for the next session.
“We’re still waiting for a few players, but I expect us to be full tomorrow in the training,” he added.
Ghana will play Mauritius in the first leg on Thursday, October 8, then host the return match at Accra Sports Stadium on October 13.
The Black Queens hope to get a good result away from home to boost their chances of reaching the next round.
Björkegren also praised the island’s beauty and said he was happy to be back with the squad after the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Now, the focus is on Olympic qualification.
