In a blockbuster deal, the Green Bay Packers acquired Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys a week before the new NFL season.
NFL Network reports the defensive end will sign a four-year contract for $188 million with the Packers.
The Cowboys will acquire two first-round draft picks and three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark in the trade.
The move resolves a contract issue between Parsons and Dallas that arose over the summer.
“I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control,” Parsons said in a statement on X, confirming his move to the Packers.
“My heart has always been here, and it still is. Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process.
“This is a sad day, but not a bitter one. I’ll never forget the joy of draft night, the adrenaline of running out of the tunnel, or the brotherhood I shared with my team mates, coaches, and the staff who prepared me for every single game. Those memories are mine forever.”
Parsons, 26, has been named to four Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams with the Cowboys since 2021, but this season was the last of his rookie deal.
He stopped mentioning the Cowboys on his social media and announced he didn’t want to play for them.
In their regular season opener, the Packers will meet the Lions on September 7 at Lambeau Field, and Dallas in week four.
