Kwame Opoku – My results would have been better if I’d started the league earlier

Since rejoining Asante Kotoko in December 2024, forward Kwame Opoku reflected on his performance for the Porcupine Warriors.
Although a recent addition, Opoku has made a significant contribution to the team, notably scoring key goals, such as two in Sunday’s MTN FA Cup final against Golden Kick.
“I view myself as just a regular player whose duty is to support my club; it’s nothing extraordinary,” Opoku modestly informed 3Sports.
The forward self-evaluated his performance at 70%, noting, “A starting position could have improved my outcome.”
Opoku’s influence at Kotoko is unquestionable, as he has led the team in goals scored since joining.
His mid-season arrival hasn’t hindered his seamless integration; he’s been instrumental with clutch goals.
Kotoko’s 8-year FA Cup drought ended thanks to his brace in the final.
Kotoko and league-leading Gold Stars will represent Ghana in the upcoming African inter-club competitions.
