Gideon Mensah believes the Ghana national football team is brimming with commitment and motivation, eager to leave a lasting mark at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The AJ Auxerre defender is among Ghana’s 28-man provisional squad gearing up for the tournament, with high hopes of clinching a spot in the final 26 after the friendly against Wales.
Ghana is set for its fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, having secured one of Africa’s coveted qualification spots for the tournament, which will unfold across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Speaking on the Ghana Football Association website, Mensah emphasized the tournament’s importance to both the players and the country.
“The expectations are very clear for me personally and for the team as a whole. We are preparing for a very important tournament for ourselves, for the country, and for our careers as players,” he said.
