Five years after their last match at the now modernized 10,400 capacity T&A stadium, Medeama will return to train there on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Ahead of the massive reopening of the ultra-modern Stadium on Friday, August 16, the Mauve and Yellow teams will be the first to hit the pitch for training.
The former champions of the Ghana Premier League are scheduled to compete against an undisclosed team as part of the festivities to inaugurate the recently renovated Stadium. This event will draw the top players in Ghanaian football and high-ranking government officials, including Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Medeama has proposed T&A Stadium as their venue for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The club aims to take advantage of the new Stadium, having been away from home since 2019.
The Akoon Community Park was previously used, but now the Gold Fields-funded stadium is complete.
The recently built Stadium, with a capacity of 10,000, has state-of-the-art amenities and a high-quality field.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received Medeama’s official submission designating it as their main venue.
The club will utilize Akoon Park as an alternative venue, with Umat Park reserved for training purposes.
