The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the much-awaited 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season schedule. The campaign starts on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The defending champions, FC Samartex 1996, will kick off the season with a high-stakes away game against Dreams FC, setting the tone for the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season.

While traditional giants Hearts of Oak host Basake Holy Stars, Asante Kotoko will face Karela United.

In an exciting opening weekend, Medeama, the former league champions, will face off against last season’s runners-up, Accra Lions.

The other highly anticipated matchday encounters are Vision FC versus Berekum Chelsea, Nsoatreman FC against Young Apostles, Aduana FC facing Heart of Lions, Gold Stars hosting Legon Cities, and Nations FC entertaining Bechem United.

The much-anticipated Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak is set to be a highlight of the season, taking place on Matchday 13 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Several regional derbies will be full of excitement and passion. Intense rivalries are expected in the Brong Ahafo region as Nsoatreman FC, Berekum Chelsea, and Aduana Stars go head-to-head, while in the Western region, Medeama, Basake Holy Stars, FC Samartex, and Gold Stars will face off.

The upcoming Ashanti derby between Asante Kotoko and Nations FC is expected to be a standout event.

The upcoming 2024–25 season will have 34 matchdays without midweek fixtures to lessen travel pressures on clubs.

A one-week break is scheduled before the December 7, 2024, national elections, ensuring that players and officials have the opportunity to engage in the voting process.
