Asante Kotoko still in title race – Coach Ogum insists

Asante Kotoko’s coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, asserts his team remains in contention for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
The Porcupine Warriors are on a four-game losing streak. Nations FC defeated Narteh Ogum’s team 2-0 on Sunday at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, despite the team’s attempt at a comeback victory following their loss to Accra Lions.
With 28 games played, the Reds are in fourth place on the league table, earning 47 points following their defeat.
“Back-to-back defeats ain’t the best, but we as a technical team have to motivate the players irrespective of what’s coming from the outside. We’re with them and we know what we can do,” Narteh Ogum said after the game.
“They are the same people who went so many matches unbeaten, so it tells you that we can do it. We just have to sit down and look at what we can do to reverse the situation,” he added.
Although Asante Kotoko have recently struggled, Narteh Ogum refutes claims that they’re out of the title race.
“The league is not over, so we keep working, keep playing the games.”
Asante Kotoko aims for victory against Aduana FC in their Matchday 29 clash at Baba Yara Stadium this Sunday.
