Asante Kotoko signs Bofoakwa’s teenage attacker, Saaka Dauda

Asante Kotoko has strengthened their attacking options for the upcoming season by acquiring promising forward Saaka Dauda from Bofoakwa Tano, a fellow team in the Ghana Premier League.

The 24-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract worth 150,000 Ghana cedis.

Dauda’s impressive performances last season, during which he scored eight goals in 32 league matches and helped Bofoakwa Tano reach the FA Cup final, attracted the attention of several clubs. However, the Porcupine Warriors have successfully secured his services.

Dauda’s desire to join Kotoko was no secret, making his move unsurprising. The speedy forward is expected to play a pivotal role as the club aims to improve its league position after a disappointing sixth-place finish last season.

Kotoko’s management is confident that Dauda will significantly impact and contribute to the team’s pursuit of silverware.

The new season is scheduled to commence in September, and Kotoko is determined to compete for the title. After inconsistent performances, which resulted in fan protests and other off-the-field issues, the club has released 21 players. It is actively recruiting new talent, with Dauda being their latest addition.
