WORLD CUP 2026: Ghana drawn against Colombia in Round of 32

Black Stars forward Prince Kwabena Adu has urged his teammates to remain focused after Ghana secured a place in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars advanced to the knockout stage for the third time in their history after finishing third in Group L with four points. Victories over Panama and a draw against England proved enough to send Ghana through despite Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia in Philadelphia.

The result sets up a Round of 32 showdown with Colombia in Kansas on Friday, July 3.

Taking to Instagram after qualification was confirmed, Adu celebrated the team’s achievement and called for continued determination.

“Proud of our team, our staff, our fans, our country… this qualification is for all of us! One step further, let’s keep pushing,” he wrote.

The Czech-based forward missed the Croatia clash but enjoyed a memorable post-match moment, exchanging shirts with Croatia and former Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur star Ivan Perišić.

Adu’s focus now shifts to the knockout clash against Colombia as Ghana targets a place in the Round of 16.

The Black Stars will return to their training base in Rhode Island to begin preparations for Friday’s encounter with the South Americans.
