Canada dominated Qatar with a 6-0 win in their second Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at BC Place.
The hosts played at their best throughout the match, outplaying Qatar from start to finish and earning their biggest win of the tournament so far.
Jonathan David led the way with a hat-trick, driving Canada’s strong attack in front of an excited home crowd.
Cyle Larin scored again, and Nathan-Dylan Saliba and Mohamed Almanai also added goals to complete the big win.
Qatar’s chances to fight back dropped even more after Homam Al-Amin and Assim Madibo were both sent off, forcing the team to play with nine men for much of the match.
With more players on the field, Canada controlled the game and took advantage of gaps in Qatar’s defense.
This big win gives Canada four points from two matches and greatly improves their chances of reaching the knockout stage.
Canada will finish their Group B matches against Switzerland on June 24. On the same day, Qatar will play Bosnia and Herzegovina as both teams try to keep their hopes of qualifying alive.
