Roberto Firmino, formerly of Liverpool, is a preacher now

Former Liverpool and Brazil player Roberto Firmino has revealed that he will become an evangelical church pastor. The 32-year-old was dedicated in his hometown of Maceio at a church he started.

Firmino and his wife, Larissa, took to Instagram to announce the news, calling it a “memorable and unforgettable” moment.

They conveyed their profound spiritual devotion, proclaiming, “Through our experience with Christ, a fervent desire is ignited within us: for others to experience this love that has touched us.” Now we have another yearning and responsibility: to be pastors after God’s heart and cooperate with the Kingdom.”

Following his baptism in 2020, Firmino underwent a transformation in Alisson’s swimming pool. Firmino often shares religious messages and posts pictures of himself preaching on social media, reflecting his strong faith.

Firmino has been with Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League since 2023, making 34 appearances and scoring nine goals.

Liverpool fans fondly remember Firmino’s time at the club, especially his lethal partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Throughout his tenure at the Reds, he secured triumphs in the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and the 2021–22 Champions League.

With 55 appearances for Brazil, Firmino is the leading goal scorer among Brazilians in Premier League history, with 82 goals.
