Former Ghana midfielder Edwin Gyimah has been let go by South African Premier League side Sekhukhune United.
The DSTV Premiership side has removed the 33-year-old along with 13 other players.
Sekhukhune United signed Gyimah, a former Ghana international, for the 2021–22 Premier League season.
Nevertheless, the Ghanaian player has had difficulty securing a permanent place in the team due to ongoing conflicts with the club’s management regarding his limited playing time.
The Ghanaian player, who is known for being versatile, last competed for Sekhukhune on November 12, 2023, in a 2-1 victory against SuperSport United.
Gyimah thinks the club has not credited him with his contributions and has taken various opportunities to express his discontent with its leaders.
Multiple reports in South Africa state that he has continuously accused the club management of not recognizing his hard work.
Over the past decade, Edwin Gyimah has mainly played for South African clubs such as SuperSport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest, and Black Leopards.
Moreover, the former Ghanaian national has also featured for Helsingborgs IF in Sweden.
He played for the Ghana national team during the 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017, which was hosted by Gabon.
