Kurt Okraku elected CAF Executive Committee member

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has elected Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to its Executive Committee (EXCO).

Mr. Okraku’s unopposed election secures his four-year term (2025-2029) on the continent’s 24-member governing body.

He is the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Executive Committee, continuing the legacy of Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Mr. Okraku’s exceptional leadership of the GFA, which has been marked by the revitalization of Ghanaian football since 2019, is evident in this election.

He’s earned widespread acclaim in African football for his focus on transparency, grassroots, women, and youth initiatives.

Ghana’s rich football history makes Mr. Okraku’s CAF EXCO position a key chance to champion national interests and boost African football.  This new role will empower Ghana to shape the future of sports across the continent.
