Ghanian coach Otto Addo named his 25-man squad for the important AFCON qualifying matches against Angola and Niger on Thursday.
While the squad boasts key players from Europe’s elite leagues, it surprisingly omits team captain Thomas Partey, even though the Arsenal midfielder is available for selection.
Speculation has swirled after Otto Addo benched Partey, especially since Partey stated he was available after missing the October matches against Sudan.
Following a hamstring injury suffered in the 2-0 defeat to Sudan last month, Monaco’s defender Mohammed Salisu will be sidelined for upcoming games.
Lorient’s Nathaniel Adjei, however, rejoins the squad following his recovery from an injury that previously sidelined him.
Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, and Fatawu Issahaku, all Premier League players, will be pivotal figures as Ghana strives for AFCON qualification.
Following their injury absences during the Sudan games, Ibrahim Osman and Joseph Paintsil rejoin the national team.
