It has been reported that David Ocloo, assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, has stepped down.
Prior to Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League, Ocloo, who had been on the technical team since September 2021, departed.
Before his promotion, Ocloo was an assistant coach at Asante Kotoko, collaborating with Prosper Narteh Ogum and John Eduafo.
The 2021/22 season saw the team’s success, culminating in a Ghana Premier League title win. Despite their win, the tech team had a break the season after.
In the 2022/23 season, Ocloo served Hearts of Oak as an assistant coach before becoming their interim head coach.
His return to Kotoko’s technical staff as assistant coach was for the 2023/24 season.
The reasons for Ocloo’s departure are unclear, and any future coaching role is yet to be determined.
