Tanko Acknowledges Medeama Slip but Refuses to Panic

Ibrahim Tanko, head coach of Medeama SC, acknowledges the team’s recent results are concerning but maintains there is no cause for panic as the Ghana Premier League nears its decisive stage.

The Tarkwa-based team has dropped key points in recent weeks, allowing Bibiani Gold Stars FC to close the gap in the title race. Medeama enters Week 25 with three draws, one win, and one defeat from their last five matches.

Tanko expects an immediate response from his players when they host Hohoe United FC at TnA Stadium on Sunday, March 8.

“No, I mean it’s disturbing, but like I said we don’t have to press any panic button. We still have 10 games—five home and five away—and definitely everyone has very tough matches. Bibiani will come to us,” Tanko told Medi TV.

“We will also travel to face Accra Hearts of Oak SC. So we have to focus on the last 10 games and try to win our matches, starting on Sunday against Hohoe United.”

Hohoe United enters the match with two wins from their last five games and aims to move out of the relegation zone.

Sunday’s match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
