His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has directed Manhyia Palace to announce the formation of a new Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.
According to Manhyia’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Kofi Badu, Mr. James Osei Brown, CEO of Joshob Construction, will chair the new Board. Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori, CEO of Rocksure, will serve as Vice Chairman.
The Board also comprises Mr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, the Founder and CEO of Rigworld Group.
The statement noted that the new Board will assume its legal oversight responsibilities immediately. The Interim Management Committee (IMC) will continue managing daily operations until the end of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.
The new Board was formally introduced to the Interim Management Committee at a meeting held at Manhyia Palace. Chief of Staff Mr. Kofi Badu, who chaired the meeting, encouraged unity and collaboration to ensure a smooth transition.
New Board Chairman, Mr. James Osei Brown, has assured stakeholders of the Board’s commitment to restoring Asante Kotoko’s esteemed status. He also encouraged the management team to intensify their efforts in the final weeks of the season. In the interim, the Management Committee extended a welcome to the new Board and promised its team’s complete backing during the transition.
This development is expected to strengthen the club’s governance and long-term strategy as Asante Kotoko advances in the Ghana Premier League.
