Hearts of Oak got back to winning ways with a tough 1-0 win over Young Apostles FC in their Ghana Premier League match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After a run of poor results, Hearts started strong, controlling possession and showing more intent in attack. They took the lead in the 35th minute when Frank Abora Duku finished calmly to cap off their early dominance.
Hearts controlled the tempo for most of the game, creating the better chances while keeping Young Apostles largely contained. Despite several set-piece opportunities, they failed to extend their lead. After the break, the hosts adopted a more cautious approach, managing the game effectively as the visitors searched unsuccessfully for an equalizer.
With this win, Hearts move up to third place with 46 points and six games left, staying in the title race before their next match against Vision FC. Young Apostles drop into the relegation zone and will play Swedru All Blacks next.
In other matches, Heart of Lions beat Vision FC 2-0, Swedru All Blacks beat Dreams FC 1-0, and Bibiani Gold Stars reclaimed the top spot with a 2-1 win over Nations FC. Basake Holy Stars earned their tenth straight home win against Karela United, and Emmanuel Ofosu led Berekum Chelsea to a 1-0 Bono derby victory over Aduana FC.
