Vision FC, reduced to ten men, held Asante Kotoko to a goalless draw at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, securing a valuable point in their fight against relegation.
Vision was reduced to 10 men in the 69th minute when Mohammed Awudu received his second yellow card for stopping a counterattack. The visitors responded by sitting deep and defending in numbers to protect the result.
Goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe played a key role in Vision’s defense, making several crucial first-half saves to deny Kotoko, who controlled much of the match but could not score.
Kotoko held 60 percent possession and created more chances, recording nine shots on target and eight off target. Vision, despite being a player down, managed seven shots on target and three off target.
The home side will be disappointed not to capitalize on their dominance, dropping points again in their pursuit of first place. Kotoko remains fourth, seven points behind the league leaders.
For Vision FC, the draw moves them further from the relegation zone and could be crucial in their ongoing fight for survival.
