Black Stars winger Antoine Semenyo has encouraged his teammates to stay focused and grounded following Ghana’s dramatic win over Panama in their opening Group L match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at BMO Field in Toronto, as Caleb Yirenkyi scored in stoppage time to secure all three points in a match that appeared headed for a draw.

The win gave Carlos Queiroz’s side a strong start to the tournament, but Semenyo stressed the need to focus on upcoming challenges rather than dwell on the result.

The four-time African champions aim to build on their strong start as they seek a place in the knockout stages for the first time since their memorable 2010 quarter-final run in South Africa.
