Jerome Opoku believes Ghana’s win over Panama has given the Black Stars a strong foundation for their upcoming FIFA World Cup match against England.
He stated that the hard-fought win has boosted team morale and fostered a positive atmosphere as they prepare for their next Group L match.
“I think everyone is delighted with the result. The three points were the most important thing, and you can feel the positive energy around the camp and training ground. That’s exactly what we needed going into the next match,” Opoku said.
He also emphasized the squad’s blend of experience and youth, calling it a key team strength.
“We have a good mix of players—experienced guys, younger players, and some of us playing in our first World Cup. It’s a healthy balance, and it has helped create a great team spirit.”
Looking ahead to the match against England, Opoku acknowledged the quality of the Three Lions but remains confident in Ghana’s ability to compete.
“We know England has some fantastic players, but we also believe in our own abilities. If we continue to fight for one another the way we did against Panama, then hopefully we can come away with all three points.”
The Black Stars will face England in their second Group L match, with a win potentially securing a strong position for knockout stage qualification.
