WAFCON 2024: Our target is to win the trophy, says Grace Asanetwaa

Black Queens midfielder Grace Asantewaa has declared the team’s intention to win the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ghana’s 4-2 penalty shootout win against Algeria secured their place in the tournament’s semifinals this past weekend.
Morocco and the Black Queens will meet for a match at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium on Tuesday, July 22, at 19:00 GMT.
“We have done a very good job. We are going to the semifinals,” Asantewaa told the CAF media.
“We are not ending here. We are taking this mentality to the semifinals.
“I know for sure that we are going to win the trophy,” she added.
After the win against the North African country, Asantewaa also expressed her excitement and added that she aims to write her name in the history books of Ghana by clinching the ultimate.
“I am very, very, very happy. I have been preparing for this. Ghanaians have been preparing for this. We had to kill ourselves.
“It is time for us to win this WAFCON. Additionally, as an individual, I want to win the WAFCON.
“I want my name to be in the history books in Ghana, in Africa, and the world. I am thrilled, and I know that Ghanaians are happy,” she added.
