Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex announced the departure of their head coach, Nurudeen Amadu.
Thirteen games into the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, the veteran Ghanaian coach, who’d joined in July 2023, departed the club by mutual consent.
Despite winning the 2023/24 Premier League title, the Timber Giants have since performed poorly.
Their recent run includes three consecutive top-flight losses and a 2-0 defeat by Bibiani GoldStars SC in the MTN FA Cup, resulting in their elimination.
FC Samartex, in their first CAF Champions League appearance, were knocked out in the preliminary round by Raja Casablanca.
Henry Wellington, assistant coach, will serve as interim head coach.
FC Samartex, currently 10th with 17 points, will play Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park for Matchday 14 this weekend.
