Ten Hag uncertain, excited about Mainoo’s future

Manchester United coach and twice FA Cup winner Erik Ten Hag is uncertain about his future at the club. Speaking to the media at the game, he pointed out that he isn’t too sure about his future, and his job is to prepare his team for games.

“I don’t know. The only thing I’m doing is preparing and developing my team. This is a project for me. When I came in, it was a mess. Now we are better. We are not where we want to be.

“Football is about winning trophies. I want to play the best football, dynamic, attacking football, but in the end, you must win games and trophies. That’s the mentality we brought in. This was our first opportunity, and we did it. I’m very proud of the players and staff.”

Ten Hag was very impressed with the performance of young prodigy Kobbie Mainoo and couldn’t hide his admiration. “He was so enjoyable to watch at his age. He’s an example. We wanted him to come in, and he got a bad injury in pre-season.”

“We have to keep it calm. Here in England, you’re very good at pushing players too high, and then you hammer them with one or two bad performances.”
