Asante Kotoko SC has confirmed the acquisition of forward Abdel Rahman Yoouef Yagoub and defender Esmat Hassabalbagi from Sudan.
Both players have agreed to a loan contract for the entire season, with the potential for a permanent agreement, which could significantly impact the team’s future.
Yagoub, who transferred from Hay Alwady in Sudan, is expected to replace Steven Mukwala, who found the back of the net 14 times for Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League last season.
Esmat, who transferred from Al Hilal to Kotoko, will be included in the squad as a left-back.
As part of a significant team rebuilding effort, the duo became Kotoko’s initial recruits, leading to the departure of approximately 20 players in recent days.
Kwasi Appiah, a Sudan coach who is a member of Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee, made the suggestion.
Both players could make their debut against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup on July 17, 2024.
