The Black Stars of Ghana have risen in the FIFA Coca-Cola rankings due to their exceptional performance in the June international window.
Thanks to their consecutive triumphs in the World Cup qualifiers, the Ghanaian team has climbed to 64th in the world rankings, a notable four-place jump from their previous standing.
However, the team’s position in Africa has seen a slight setback as they have slipped out of the top ten, now ranking 12th on the continent, a fact that should not overshadow their recent successes.
Ghana’s position improved after it defeated Mali in Bamako and then secured a thrilling win against the Central African Republic in Kumasi.
The draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Johannesburg next month will be based on the most recent ranking.
The global ranking sees Argentina, the world champions, at the top, with France and Belgium in second and third place, respectively.
Below is the top ten in Africa
Morocco
Senegal
Egypt
Ivory Coast
Nigeria
Tunisia
Algeria
Cameroun
Mali
Morocco maintained its top position in Africa’s ranking, with Senegal closely following as the reigning African champions. Egypt, Cote D’Ivoire, and Nigeria also secured spots in the top five.
