Kalvin Phillips suffers disastrous start to West Ham career with nightmare blunder

Kalvin Phillips’ career at West Ham got off to a disastrous start on Thursday night as he gave the ball away and cost his team a goal within five minutes of kick-off.

The England midfielder has moved to east London on loan from Manchester City for the rest of the season after struggling for game time under Pep Guardiola.

The 28-year-old has been thrown straight into the starting XI by David Moyes at the London Stadium against Bournemouth in the Premier League, with the Scot showing his faith in the former Leeds United man.

However, that faith took an early shaking as Phillips misplaced a pass and allowed Dominic Solanke to tap home into an empty net to put the Cherries ahead.
