Morocco will soon host the 2025 AFCON, the continent’s largest football event, from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Twenty-four national teams will battle for glory across six vibrant Moroccan cities, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive tournament.
Morocco headline Group A
As hosts, Morocco leads Group A and faces Mali, Zambia, and Comoros. The home crowd will rally behind their team as they kick off the tournament’s opening match.
With the knockout rounds on the horizon, Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, Senegal, and the reigning champions, the Ivory Coast, are expected to be major contenders.
Host cities and stadiums
Games will be played in six cities across nine stadiums.
Rabat: Facilities include the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex (69,500 seats), the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium, the Olympic Annex Stadium, and Al Barid Stadium.
Casablanca: Mohammed V Sports Complex (67,000 seats)
Tangier: Grand Stade de Tanger (75,600 seats at the largest stadium at the tournament)
Marrakech: Grand Stade de Marrakech (45,000 seats)
Agadir: Grand Stade d’Agadir (45 000 seats)
Fez: Fez Sports Complex (45,000 seats)
