In the upcoming 2027 FA presidential elections, former GFA vice president George Afriyie may request Kwesi Nyantakyi, former GFA president’s support for his candidacy.
Afriyie’s 2019 bid for the GFA presidency was unsuccessful, with Kurt Okraku emerging victorious. The elections committee, however, disqualified him in the 2023 elections.
Responding to a question about future support from Nyantakyi, Afriyie said it was possible.
“I may seek Nyantakyi’s support,” he told Sporty FM.
“We don’t often talk like before, but occasionally, I check up on him.
“If I decide to contest for the GFA Elections, I will seek the support of Kwesi Nyantakyi,” he added.
Afriyie held the GFA Vice President position from 2015 until 2018, succeeding Fred Crentsil.
