GFA retains Otto Addo as Black Stars coach – Randy Abbey

According to committee chairman Randy Abbey, the GFA has decided to keep Otto Addo as Black Stars’ head coach despite recent setbacks.
Although Ghana unexpectedly missed the 2025 AFCON after 21 years of qualification, the GFA is committed to its current strategy.
Ghana’s AFCON qualifying run saw them winless and at the bottom of their group.
“I think the GFA has taken the decision already,” Abbey disclosed during an interview on Original FM. “The GFA is keeping Otto Addo. Immediately, it’s about the World Cup qualifiers that start in March.”
Reports suggest that, although the GFA intends to replace assistant coaches Joseph Laumann and John Paintsil, it has opted to keep Addo for stability’s sake.
Ghana’s Black Stars have crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar in March; the Ghana Football Association hopes that Addo can lead them to victory.
This past weekend, the Black Stars management committee was reorganized, with Randy Abbey as chairman and Stephen Appiah returning as vice chairman.
