West Ham’s management reassures Mohammed Kudus’ camp after Julen Lopetegui controversy

West Ham United’s management contacted Mohammed Kudus’ representatives to clarify concerns between the player and head coach Julen Lopetegui.
The reassurance is a response to a reported disagreement between Kudus and Lopetegui after the player was substituted at halftime in the match against Brentford on September 28.
Club sources have confirmed that the situation was exaggerated but resolved, returning everything to normal at the club’s training ground in Rush Green.
Lopetegui clarified in the post-match press conference that he replaced Kudus for purely tactical reasons.
“It was for tactical reasons,” said the head coach. “In the second half, we worked as a team, which is a very important step for me. I highlighted the behavior in the second half because I think we put on the pitch what we needed.”
According to The Athletic, West Ham’s management reached out to Kudus’ representatives after the game to underscore their unwavering support. They made it clear that there are no lingering issues between the player and the coaching staff.
Despite playing eight games, Kudus, who had a remarkable debut season under former manager David Moyes, has yet to score this season.
Despite his goalless streak this season, the 24-year-old Kudus remains a pivotal member of the team. He is determined to break this streak in the upcoming match against Ipswich Town at the London Stadium.
