GTV Sports+ has reportedly secured the exclusive broadcasting rights for the Ghana Premier League’s next five seasons.
This agreement follows a previous contract with StarTimes, a Chinese pay television network that has held broadcasting rights since 2020.
The organizers did not renew StarTimes’ contract for the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup after the 2023–24 football season.
According to Oyerepa FM, GTV Sports+ has reached an agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), making it the sole broadcaster.
Reports state that the deal is worth $2 million and industry experts predict that it will raise the coverage of Ghanaian football through top-notch broadcasts, which will feature live games, highlights, and detailed analysis.
This development is significant because it will allow local fans to access their beloved teams and matches on a national platform ongoing.
GTV Sports+ will provide enhanced coverage and an improved viewing experience for the next five years, starting on September 6, when the 2024-25 season of the Ghana Premier League kicks off.
