Real Madrid name Xabi Alonso as their new manager till 2028.

Real Madrid officially named Xabi Alonso, their new manager, for a term beginning June 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2028.
Carlo Ancelotti’s departure to manage the Brazilian national team paves the way for a Spanish tactician to take over. Between 2009 and 2014, Alonso, a football legend and Real Madrid icon, contributed six goals and 31 assists across his 236 official appearances for the club.
While playing for Real Madrid, Alonso won six titles—a Champions League victory (their tenth), a European Super Cup, a La Liga title, two Copa del Rey titles, and a Spanish Super Cup.
His international career with Spain was also triumphant, highlighted by a World Cup win (2010) and two European Championships (2008, 2012) across 114 appearances.
Alonso started his coaching career with Real Madrid’s U14 A team, winning the league and Champions Tournament in 2018-2019.
Having achieved a remarkable treble at Bayer Leverkusen in three seasons, Alonso returns to Real Madrid as a leading European coach.
Alonso’s official Real Madrid coaching introduction ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 26, at 12:30 PM at Real Madrid City.
