The Football Association (FA) has charged Preston North End striker Milutin Osmajic for allegedly biting Blackburn Rovers’ Owen Beck during Sunday’s heated Championship match, which ended 0-0 at Deepdale.
The Montenegro international is accused of biting Beck in a heated altercation late in the match.
The incident unfolded after Yuki Ohashi fouled Osmajic. Blackburn’s Beck, currently on loan from Liverpool, was then sent off for retaliating against Preston’s Duane Holmes.
In the ensuing scuffle, Osmajic is alleged to have bitten the defender after forcefully pressing his head into the back of Beck’s neck.
Blackburn manager John Eustace addressed the situation after the match, saying, “[Beck has] got a big bite mark on the back of his neck. He’s shown all the lads. He’s a little bit quiet, a little bit shook up.”
Osmajic has until Monday to respond to the FA’s charge. The incident added to an already tense contest, which also saw Preston’s Sam Greenwood receive a red card for a reckless challenge on Lewis Baker.
