Asante Kotoko’s IMC Chairman, Nana Apinkra, firmly informed the GFA that the club would not play until their demands were fully satisfied.
Following the tragic death of a supporter, Nana Pooley Apinkra addressed a Kotoko-GFA meeting in Kumasi, urging reforms before the club plays again.
Kotoko and Hearts of Oak jointly presented proposals to the GFA, advocating for an independent league, improved security, guaranteed Executive Council representation, and equitable TV rights distribution.
“As for the GFA, we already know you take us for granted, but from now on, you will respect us whether you like it or not. Kotoko and Hearts cannot be ignored. We are asking for better security measures,” Nana Apinkra stated.
He emphasized Kotoko’s willingness to play, but only upon resolving their concerns.
“Even today, we will play if you respond to our proposals. But until then, count us out because we cannot sit back and watch another life lost,” he added.
The GFA is discussing safety concerns with all 18 Premier League clubs to ensure a safe return to football.
