The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, announced that safety protocols are being enforced in the Ghana Premier League to prevent hooliganism.
The Ghana Premier League (GPL) is set to restart on March 7 after a short pause. This marks the resumption of football since it was suspended after the passing of beloved Kotoko fan Nana Pooley.
The resumption of the league is a welcome relief for fans eagerly awaiting its return.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has diligently implemented reforms to enhance the league. Reform discussions, anticipated to revolutionize the league, were held between the GFA and 18 GPL clubs.
GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo thinks the reforms are already proving successful.
“There are tasks we take on, and some of them are tasks you carry out. Some are processes, others recur with each instance. As you can see, we’re on that path”.
“We’ve done the training; we’ve done the engagement. There are a few things to do, but we will do them this week,” he added.
The GFA has been working hard to ensure a smooth return to action. Last week, the supporters’ union and match officials attended an educational session on match safety protocols.
This change should improve the matchday experience and keep players, staff, and fans safe.
As the GPL is about to resume, fans are excitedly awaiting the effects of the new reforms.
