Ghana Premier League (GPL) and Division 1 referees are struggling financially because of unpaid bonuses, according to Happy FM in Accra.

Ghana Premier League referees were unpaid from Matchday 20 to Matchday 34, and Division 1 referees from Matchweek 15 to Matchweek 30.

This delay is alarming since the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season ended two months ago and the new season starts in less than two months.

The absence of money has hindered referees’ preparation for the season, especially medical exams. Season 2024/25 begins on September 6, 2024.
