Medeama has committed to winning the premier league once more

Current Premier League side Medeama SC aims to win the upcoming 2024/25 season’s title and represent Ghana in the continental club championships.

The board chairman of the Tarkwa-based club, Dr Toni Aubynn, believes that their ambitious target is easily attainable due to their past successes in the Premier League and FA Cup.

During an exclusive interview with the Graphic Sports, Dr. Aubynn emphasized the club’s commitment to competing at the highest level.

With the new season approaching next month, he disclosed that the club had brought in new players to improve their chances of winning the highly sought-after league title.

“We are focused on winning the league. You cannot enter a competition like this and expect anything less than first place. Medeama is no longer a new team in the league; we have matured, having won the league and the FA Cup before. We’ve also represented Ghana in Africa, so winning the league is definitely our goal,” Dr Aubynn stated confidently.

He noted the seamless integration of the newly recruited players into the team, citing their recent preseason victory over rivals, Asante Kotoko, as a testament to the squad’s potential.

Dr Aubynn cautioned that a victory over Kotoko does not guarantee a league win. On the contrary, it inspires players to perform consistently throughout the season.

Recognizing Kotoko’s dominant position in the domestic league, Dr. Aubynn acknowledged the importance of their preseason defeat but emphasized the coach’s cautious approach. He highlighted the need to handle expectations properly in order to avoid burdening the players.
