Swiss giant FC Basel has extended the contract for Ghana’s young player Emmanuel Essiam.
Essiam joined RotBlau from Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League at the start of the 2021/22 season.
The young enforcer played in 21 matches for Fabio Celestine’s team before being loaned to Stade Lausanne last season.
After making nine appearances for Stade Lausanne, the young player returned to FC Basel in the summer.
Essiam signed a two-year contract extension to extend his stay at the club on Thursday. The deal expires in 2028.
Essiam played a significant role in the Ghana U23 team, which didn’t make it to the 2024 Olympic Games in France.
