Spain’s Nico Williams has admired Ghana’s legendary Asamoah Gyan. The forward from Athletic Bilbao, who is Ghanaian, disclosed that he grew up as a fan of the former captain of the Black Stars.
Inaki Williams’ younger brother, Williams Jr., emerged as one of Spain’s top performers at the European Championship, scoring a goal and winning the Man of the Match title in the final against England.
Williams revealed in an interview with 3 Sports during his Ghana visit that Gyan had inspired him in football.
“Back when I was just a six-year-old, I had a fondness for Asamoah Gyan. He is our best striker. He scored a lot of goals. I loved Asamoah Gyan,” he said.
