FIFA CWC 2025: Dominant Juventus secures victory over Al Ain

A 5-0 win for Juventus over Al Ain marked their Club World Cup debut, with standout displays and two goals each from Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao powering the Italian team to victory.
Juventus began their FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a resounding 5-0 victory over Al-Ain, fueled by two braces and a stunning goal.
The Bianconeri showed early dominance, overcoming Al-Ain’s initial high press. Juventus quickly countered Al Ain’s early chance (Zabala’s shot saved by Di Gregorio at the 9th minute), taking the lead at 11 minutes with Kolo Muani’s header from Alberto Costa’s cross.
The 21st minute saw Tudor’s team increase their advantage; Conceicao beat a defender in the box before neatly placing the ball in the net at the near post. A superb goal by Yildiz in the 31st minute, from open play, saw him control Thuram’s pass and beat Patricio with a precise right-footed shot. The ball grazed the post before entering the net, giving Juventus a 3-0 lead in a dominant performance.

Juve almost scored again; first, Yildiz’s volley from a difficult angle hit the side netting, and then Kelly’s header from a corner narrowly missed. They scored the fourth goal in stoppage time before halftime. (Note: While this uses active voice in the main clause, the passive voice remains. It’s difficult to maintain the original meaning and remove all instances of passive voice.) Thuram orchestrated another key play, finding Kolo Muani near the box; Muani calmly controlled the ball, then gracefully curled it in with the outside of his right foot, again beating Rui Patricio. A clinical first-half performance gave Tudor’s team a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime.

The Bianconeri defence received a wake-up call to start the second half. Within the first minute, Al-Ain’s Ramy Rabia scored, but the referee disallowed it. Following quickly, Di Gregorio produced a world-class save, extending his arm to thwart Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba’s attempt from close range.
After a more measured start to the second half, Juventus’s Francisco Conceicao scored his second goal of the match in the 58th minute. With a clinical left-footed finish, the Portuguese winger played through on goal, sealed the 5-0 victory. Juventus controlled the match, nearly scoring twice more—once with Kolo Muani forcing a save from Rui Patricio in the 66th minute and again late with Douglas Luiz striking the post.
