The last group-stage matches for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, begin Monday, with many teams still vying to qualify — and the classic AFCON late drama guaranteed.
Egypt, Nigeria, and Algeria have qualified for the Round of 16 after winning their first two games. The final group games will determine the top two finishers and automatic qualifiers, as well as teams vying for the best third-place spots.
The mood is immediately set by Monday’s schedule, with concurrent kick-offs adding to the tension.
Group B has Egypt in a strong position with six points, but there’s still lots of competition behind them. South Africa is second with three points, and a win against Zimbabwe will secure their position; Angola, tied with Zimbabwe at one point, needs to beat Egypt and hope for other favorable outcomes. Given the tight goal difference, one swing could decide everything.

Morocco leads Group A with four points, but they aren’t safe yet. Mali and Zambia are tied with two points, Comoros has one, and Monday’s games could change everything. Zambia, capable of tough play, challenges Morocco, while Mali needs a victory over Comoros in a possible tiebreaker.
Nigeria faces Uganda on Tuesday, and the stakes are high, even though Nigeria has already secured a spot. Tunisia, with three points, must beat Tanzania; however, Tanzania and Uganda could still qualify, so they can’t relax.

Group D’s numbers point to a final-day battle: Senegal and DR Congo are tied at four points, Benin trails by one with three, and Botswana seeks its first point. DR Congo will likely have opportunities against Botswana, while Senegal’s match with Benin presents risk, with first place, qualification, or elimination on the line.
Wednesday marks the final day of the group phase. Burkina Faso and Sudan, each with three points, are closely competing to join already-qualified Algeria from Group E.

In Group F, Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire are tied with four points, and Mozambique is right behind with three, making the final matches a tight contest, though Gabon is already out.

The first two rounds have shown that AFCON is usually unpredictable.
Spanning three days, the final group games seem poised to provide the decisive twists.
