Nashville SC president calls Maxwell Woledzi a ‘tremendous leader’

Nashville SC’s soccer operations president, Mike Jacobs, praised Maxwell Woledzi’s signing, calling him a ‘great player and leader’ who will strengthen the team in 2026.
The 24-year-old center back from Ghana agreed to a contract with an option to extend to 2029, after moving from Fredrikstad.
Woledzi is expected to take Walker Zimmerman’s place, who will leave as a free agent in December, and will fill an international roster spot after his visa is approved.
“Maxwell is a tremendous player and leader who will be a great addition to our club,” Jacobs said. “We are excited to be able to add him to our group for the 2026 season.”
Woledzi, from Accra’s Right to Dream Academy, helped Fredrikstad get promoted and win the Norwegian Cup.
Across all competitions, he played 88 games, won Player of the Year, and was on the 2024 Eliteserien Team of the Year.
Nashville SC’s habit of acquiring talented players from Scandinavian leagues continues with this signing, bringing another experienced, disciplined defender to their growing roster before the 2026 season.
