D.C. United suffered its biggest loss of the season, falling 4-0 to FC Dallas.
Logan Farrington and Petar Musa continued their strong play as Dallas rolled to a 4-0 win over D.C. United on Saturday night. Michael Collodi made three saves to earn his second clean sheet of the season for Dallas (3-1-2). It was his fifth shutout in his first 15 career starts.
Farrington scored the first goal in the 16th minute, finishing passes from Ramiro Benetti and Sebastien Ibeagha to give Dallas a 1-0 lead. It was Farrington’s third goal this season and his 12th in 67 games. Benetti, who had four assists last year, got his first of this season, and Ibeagha earned the third assist of his 195-game career.
Patrickson Delgado made it 2-0 just before halftime, scoring his first goal of the season from a free kick in the first minute of stoppage time. Dallas led 2-0 at the break.
Defender Osaze Urhoghide scored with a header in the 78th minute to make it 3-0. Joaquín Valiente and Kaick Ferreira assisted on the goal. Valiente picked up his third assist in five games after coming on in the 71st minute, while Kaick recorded his first assist in 33 matches.
Musa finished the scoring with an unassisted goal in stoppage time, his seventh of the season. He is now tied with Nashville SC’s Sam Surridge for the league lead. Musa has scored 41 goals in his first 66 MLS games.
Sean Johnson made three saves for D.C. United (2-3-1), which now has a 10-8-5 home record all-time against Dallas. Before this game, Johnson had two clean sheets and had allowed only four goals in his first five starts.
