Arsenal’s Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey, says he hasn’t decided if he’ll stay beyond June when his contract ends.
Though often injured in his first three seasons since joining Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020, Partey has been vital to the Gunners.
His best and most consistent season in North London (2024/25) saw him play 35 league games, a campaign where he felt he consistently performed at his peak.
During an exclusive interview with 3Sports, the 31-year-old shared:
“Because I’ve been consistently fit, people are discussing my availability. I always gave 100% in every training session and match. Although injuries are common, I felt great this year”.
Although Arsenal reportedly initiated discussions for a one-year contract extension, Partey claims they have not reached a decision.
“The most important thing is being happy where you play. At this stage of my career, my next move must strike a balance between ambition, family, and security. I’m an Arsenal fan too, but it’s up to the club, my agent, and me to decide. For now, I just want to enjoy my football.”
Arsenal’s pursuit of Real Sociedad’s Zubimendi follows Jorginho’s release, potentially creating a midfield three of Zubimendi, Rice, and Partey (if Partey signs).
With 130 appearances and 9 goals, Partey has had a significant impact at Arsenal.
Over the coming weeks, Gunners fans will be watching closely to see if he stays at the Emirates or moves to a different club.
