Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah allegedly skips training for unpaid wages

AfricaSoccer.com reports that Sudan’s national football team head coach, James Kwesi Appiah, is boycotting training due to outstanding salary payments.
Saudi Arabia is currently hosting the Jediane Falcons for a 12-day training camp in preparation for this month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Kwesi Appiah, however, won’t join the camp until his outstanding payments are settled. It’s been reported that upon returning from Ghana, the previous Black Stars coach skipped a scheduled meeting with Sudan FA VP Osama Atta Al-Mannan.
The Sudan FA is striving to resolve its financial issues with Kwesi Appiah, in spite of current challenges.
Sudan will play Senegal March 18th and South Sudan March 24th for World Cup qualifiers in Group B (rounds 5 and 6).
Sudan leads Group B with 10 points after a strong start to the tournament.
To prepare for crucial World Cup qualifiers, Sudan will play a friendly against Jordan.
