Otto Addo warns Ghanaians after Madagascar win: Job is not done

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has cautioned fans against excessive optimism concerning the 2026 World Cup after their win against Madagascar in Morocco.

Goals from Thomas Partey (a double) and Mohammed Kudus (close range) secured a comfortable 3-0 win for Ghana against Madagascar.

Ghana’s 15 points give them a five-point lead over Madagascar in Group I, securing a strong position in the final matches.

Following the Black Stars’ 2022 qualification, Otto implored fans and players to maintain concentration.

Although we’re doing well, it’s also risky, so I’m concentrating on keeping everyone focused. We still have a lot of work to do. A Comoros victory would leave us just three points ahead—a considerable distance still remains. Post-game, Otto Addo emphasized focus on 3Sports.

Believing we’re through is a grave miscalculation. Having seen much football and many events unfold, focus remains key. “Today’s progress is good, but the job isn’t finished,” he said.

Ghana aims for their fifth World Cup appearance, having already competed in four (2006, 2010, 2014, 2022).
