Asante Kotoko have reportedly initiated talks with Maxwell Konadu over a possible return as head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Porcupine Warriors are searching for a new manager following the resignation of Abdul Karim Zito, a development that was compounded by the subsequent exit of interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu.
For now, youth team coach Abdul Gazale has been placed in temporary charge until the end of the current campaign.
Reports indicate that Kotoko’s management is evaluating long-term options, with Konadu emerging as a strong contender for the role.
The Ghana U-20 head coach has previously managed the club twice and is now being considered for a third stint.
Sources suggest the club’s three-member board is currently debating whether to appoint a foreign coach or opt for Konadu, who is viewed as the leading local candidate.
Konadu, who remains in charge of Ghana’s U-20 national team, is believed to be open to a return should discussions progress positively.
