Karim Zito is back at Asante Kotoko as acting head coach and technical director

Asante Kotoko SC’s technical department has undergone a major restructuring, showing a new path for the club after Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s dismissal.
Tuesday’s club statement confirmed Abdul Karim Zito as the new technical director.
Coach Zito, a highly respected figure in Ghanaian football, rejoins Asante Kotoko, boasting a strong track record, including a historic CAF Confederation Cup semi-final run with Dreams FC and a 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations victory with Ghana’s U-20 team.
He will temporarily be the acting head coach until someone permanently replaces him.
The new technical structure includes Prince Yaw Owusu as assistant coach alongside Zito.
Owusu has more than two decades of extensive coaching experience in Ghana, Sudan, and the United States. His career encompasses roles with Medeama SC, Inter Allies, Khartoum National Club, and various national teams.
Known for his exceptional player development skills, Owusu has mentored numerous players now starring in top European clubs.
Meanwhile, after a change of roles, the experienced Malik Jabir became the Technical Advisor.
Jabir, a former Kotoko star and technical director, will now provide strategic support for the club’s long-term ambitions.
