Following Jordan Ayew’s move to Leicester City, Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish commended him for his exceptional and altruistic contributions to the club.
Ayew has agreed to an £8 million, two-year contract with Leicester City, concluding his six-year stay at Selhurst Park. Ayew’s time at Palace saw him play in 212 games, scoring 23 goals and assisting in 22 others.
Parish expressed his admiration for Ayew’s impact on and off the pitch, stating, “Jordan has been outstanding and selfless in his service for Crystal Palace, both on and off the pitch, not just with his goals and assists, but his all-round play, dedication, and willingness to do everything we have asked of him. He has provided a fantastic example to his teammates, young and old.”
He added, “We wish him all the best with the next chapter of his career – he will always be welcome back at Selhurst Park.”
Ayew first joined Palace on loan from Swansea City in August 2018, later making the transfer permanent the following summer. He rapidly established himself as a crucial member of the Eagles, receiving both the Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards in 2018/19. Furthermore, he received the goal of the Season award for his remarkable solo goal against West Ham United the following year.
Throughout the 2022/23 season, Ayew never missed a match for Palace, appearing in all 41 of their competitive games. With a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over Burnley at Selhurst Park, he celebrated reaching the milestone of 200 games for the club in February.
